# Add a shipping address or gift delivery instructions

Use your list's delivery settings to tell gift buyers how you would like to receive gifts. GiftList does not place the retailer's order or fill its checkout address for the buyer.

## Update your list

1. Sign in and open the list you own.
2. Open **Settings** and find the gift delivery settings.
3. Choose the available delivery option that fits your list.
4. For gifts sent by mail, enter a complete shipping address. For in-person delivery, give clear instructions for arranging a handoff.
5. Choose **Save**, then check the list you intend to share.

Check apartment numbers, postal codes and any deadline. Avoid adding sensitive information to general gift notes when it belongs in delivery settings.

## What gift buyers should do

A buyer can use the supplied instructions when recording a gift. If an address appears, they still need to enter the correct address at the retailer. If the list does not provide enough information, ask the owner before checking out.

A list address is not a shipping label, dispatch confirmation or tracking update. If you change it after someone has ordered, contact that person directly so they can ask the retailer whether the order can be changed.
