Questions about cards
Pick a design, write your message, and choose an envelope. Then pick who it's for. If they're on GiftList and you follow them, we email the card for you and you never need their address. For anyone else, the card comes with a private link you can send by text, by chat, or from your own email. Whoever opens it doesn't need an account.
No. The card opens in any browser. Nobody has to sign up or install anything to read it.
Nothing. Every design in this gallery is free to send.
Yes. Upload your own image and it becomes the front of the card. A photo is cropped to the same shape as the designs here. An animated GIF is fitted inside that shape rather than cropped, and it keeps moving on the card.
It arrives as a sealed envelope in the color you picked. The envelope opens, and the design and your message are inside.
Partly. Your cards list marks a card as viewed once someone opens the card page and the envelope reveal runs. The only views we leave out are your own, so if the link gets forwarded, whoever opens it counts. We can't tell one reader from another, and we don't track email opens at all.
Yes, on the card page. They can tap a reaction or write a note back without an account, and the reply reaches you in GiftList. Replying to the email doesn't get to you: card email is sent from GiftList's address, not yours.
Ours, never yours. A card we email comes from GiftList, shown as your first name followed by “via GiftList”, and your own address is not in the message. It works the same way in reverse: picking someone you follow never shows you their address.
No. A card link keeps working, and anyone holding it can open the card. Treat the link like the card itself.
