Make a wishlist for a child or another person
Updated
In this guide
You can create and manage a list in your own account for someone else. Give it a clear name and invite a trusted collaborator if another person should help edit. This does not create a separate account for the recipient.
Create the list in the right account
- Sign in to the adult or caregiver account that will own and manage the list.
- Choose Create List and name it for the recipient and occasion, such as “Sam's birthday”.
- Review profile visibility, password access and delivery instructions before sharing.
- Add gifts and useful notes for size, color and quantity.
- Open the shared view or check the copied link before sending it to family.
The account creating the list remains its owner. A list named for a child is not a child sign-in, sub-account, or automatic transfer of ownership. Use your own account to manage it rather than sharing your password.
Let another caregiver help
Use the list's collaborator invitation to grant editing access to a trusted person. A normal share link lets people view and shop; it does not make them an editor. Joining a family group is also separate from editing permission.
Review what collaborators can see and do before inviting them. Only give that access to someone who should help manage the list. Each person should use their own account for editing.
Shop without confusing the owner's view
The account that owns the list has owner controls and surprise settings. A parent shopping while signed into that owner account may not see the same purchased status a gift-giver sees. Use the appropriate shopper view and your own gift-giver details; do not assume naming the list after someone changes the underlying roles.
Agree with other caregivers on when to reveal gifts. Hiding the display again cannot undo information someone has already seen. For a new birthday, reuse or duplicate the list carefully and review its link, gifts and sharing settings.
